1.0
LatestBuild 1The first build, now in beta.
New
- Puts Time Machine into Manual mode with one switch, and steps aside if you switch back to Automatic
- Backs up every 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 24 hours, only when the backup disk is really mounted
- Can start a backup within seconds of the backup disk being plugged in
- “Only when on power”, checked during a backup as well as before it
- Optional local snapshot cleanup that keeps the snapshots Time Machine needs
- A spinning menu bar icon with the backup percentage, and progress, data copied and time remaining in the menu
- Can hide Apple’s Time Machine menu bar icon while Cadence runs, and puts it back when you quit
- Guided setup, one step at a time, with the menu opening on its own until setup is finished
Improved
- Every Time Machine and helper call has a timeout; a stalled helper shows a warning instead of a false “backing up”
- After an update, an outdated helper is restarted with one click, without an administrator password
Cadence was called SnapStop during development. The rename changed its identifiers, so an earlier SnapStop setup has to be run again.
